Born in Romania, Dr. Simona completed her medical degree and completed her General Internal Medicine residency in Tisimoara in 1995. Then, she and her family moved, all the way to Canada. While adapting to life in Canada, Dr. Simona completed an Internal Medicine Residency Core Program and GIM fellowship, both through the University of Calgary in 2008. Most recently, she completed her MSc in Clinical Epidemiology. It is her ability to adapt to an entirely new country and succeed that helps her to understand how to help her patients adjust their lifestyle and manage their illness. To continue enhancing her knowledge and involvement within the medical community, she is currently a member of the American College of Physicians, the Canadian Society of Internal Medicine, and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians.

When not working with her patients or completing her Masters, she enjoys spending time with her family, being in nature and gardening.
