Dr. Alfred received his medical degree for the University of Ghana Medical School in 1971, after which he was awarded the Canadian Commonwealth Fellowship Scholarship. He then completed his Masters in Pharmacology in 1975 from the University of Calgary and his Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Alberta in 1978. Most recently, in March of 2013, Dr. Alfred was awarded the Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee medal, recognizing the medical services he provided in Saskatchewan for nearly 30 years. He was also appointed Head of Section of General Internal Medicine for the Regina Health Region in 2002. In 2011 Dr. Alfred joined the team at C-era bringing with him his broad base of medical experience.

A supporter of global medicine, once a year, Dr. Alfred travels to his home country of Ghana to help improve their health care and health workers’ skills and knowledge. Dr. Alfred enjoys spending time with his wife, who was also a doctor prior to retiring, his three grown children and three grandchildren. And when he finds the rare free moment, he can be found enjoying classical music, or playing the organ.
